Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido; President and CEO: Koichiro Suzuki, hereafter “Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel”) has been selected as a “Regional Future Driving Company” under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. This marks the second selection from the travel industry nationwide and the first travel company in Hokkaido to receive this honor.
The “Regional Future Driving Company” designation is awarded to companies selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry that are expected to play a key role in driving regional economic development. These companies are recognized for creating high added value by leveraging the characteristics and strengths of their regions, stimulating local demand, and generating significant economic ripple effects. Companies selected are considered leaders in their regional economies, with promising growth potential.
Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel was recognized for its excellence in creating travel products that capitalize on the unique characteristics and strengths of Hokkaido. Initiatives to Drive the Regional Economy
Inbound Business:
Our staff, with specialized knowledge, builds trust by engaging with regions that have traditionally been overlooked, discovering their unique appeal and developing travel products. These offerings are tailored to international affluent travelers who seek more than just a standard tour of tourist spots. By crafting custom-made tours based on a diverse range of programs, we add high value to the experience. We work closely with the local community to turn the region’s unique appeal into valuable experiences, delivering satisfaction and excitement to both tourists and the local community.
Experiential Tourism Business:
Through our experiential tourism portal site, “Hokkaido Experience.com,” we offer over 1,200 programs from about 350 operators across Hokkaido. In addition to partnering with these operators, we also develop and sell locally-based experiential exchange programs. These offerings allow travelers to fully enjoy Hokkaido’s charm through activities like agriculture, forestry, and fisheries experiences, providing rich travel experiences.
Regional Revitalization Business:
In collaboration with municipalities across Hokkaido, we provide consulting services for “tourism region development” aimed at increasing exchange population. We support the planning and development of stay-type services (such as travel products) and the establishment of DMO/DMC (Destination Management/Marketing Organizations) across various regions.
