Our company, Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido; President: Koichiro Suzuki, hereinafter referred to as “our company”) conducted a value-added study tour from September 2nd to 5th, 2024, as part of The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) implemented by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The tour, conducted in collaboration with Japan Development Service Co., Ltd., the organizer of the program based in Tokyo, was held over four days for 35 graduate students (Master’s and Doctorate) from 13 universities across Japan who had came to Japan last year. Participants came from three countries: Ghana, El Salvador, and Nepal. The tour covered topics such as the history of Hokkaido’s development, the process of regional revitalization through collaboration between local governments and private companies, and the effective utilization of private sector technologies and local human resources. The tour was organized in cooperation with two companies and six organizations.
The purpose of this tour was to encourage participants to gain new insights and broaden their perspectives by providing them with a deeper understanding of administrative activities and private sector businesses in Hokkaido. We hope that this experience will contribute to their ongoing research and future careers upon their return home.
Going forward, our company will continue to collaborate with various organizations to create tours that showcase the attractive industries and innovative administrative initiatives of the Hokkaido region to people around the world.
